Frequently Asked Questions
Below are examples of most common frequently asked questions.
There are two ways to approach site building. First is the outdated approach of "Desktop-First Responsive Design" and Second is the new "Mobile-First Responsive Design" approach approved by Google who now say sites must be built "Mobile-First"... MOBILE FIRST! Mobile-First is the Fix.
Absolutely. Using Mobile-First technology, MobiSiteMaker.com is user-friendly and makes it possible to build a professional website without knowing how to code. All websites are built using widgets - flexible and powerful components that you can use, re-use and clone to build the perfect combination for your needs, with minimum effort and maximum results. Of course, if you know how to code, you can add advanced functionality to your site with CSS.
Currently we offer a Self-Service option (BYO - Build your Own - Mobile-First Sites only) with Full support. Coming soon we'll also offer a "Done for You" site creation service, where we can build your sites for you. You can even sell them for profit.
Yes, there are step by step tutorials to get you going. There are also full tutorials on how to navigate the features in the Help section. They pop out until you watch them. Pretty much every feature has been covered in a tutorial and training session.
Today Google wants all sites to be secure so we recommend having an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer Certificate. Our SSL Certs are Comodo Positive SSL Certificates. SSL certs can be difficult to install. Once purchased, we install them for you at a nominal price so as to prevent errors. Our SSL Certs are Comodo Positive SSL Certificates. Our installation service guarantees your certificate is installed correctly. This is a popular client service.
Yes, always gather the content first. Put it in a text document, so you can easily copy and paste, click or drag your content to the placeholder and all the content will transfer correctly with the same fonts, so long as you copy to a TEXT Doc first, then paste into the platform.
Yes, the MobiSiteMaker platform is SAAS (Software as a Service) and it runs on all devices where you can access the Internet.
Mobile-First technology has been 3 years in development. We have long term plans to keep this software ahead of demands for mobile and desktop needs and for helping our customers build a strong business presence.
Google announced in 2016 (there is a YouTube video about this) that the World is now Mobile-First... NOT Mobile Friendly, which is what everyone is building today. We areone of very few building sites using Mobile-First technology, then the software adapts it to other devices for a seamless site across ALL devices. The PC era is dead (not our words, see the YouTube videos).
All others out there are still doing it the "responsive" way which when you look into it means DESKTOP first design, Not MOBILE FIRST. Essentially, if you are doing just responsive design, this means you are "mobile-last".
YOU MUST BE MOBILE-FIRST. MOBISITEMAKER.COM EQUALS MOBILE-FIRST.
The widgets and templates can be accessed automatically once you begin to build a site. The platform is intuitive and presents design options as you progress.
Initial templates are imported automatically and you have the correct number depending on your offer/subscription. Our template club comes with 10 new templates once a month that you do not have to import.
To view existing templates, you should create a new site in the "Mobile and Desktop sites" module. Once you create a site you will be able to choose a template. After you have created a site, you can choose a page to edit and that will let you add or change the widgets.
Absolutely, we sure are. Being mobile-first helps too. Some say more so. You can customize SEO on a Page Level.
There various price plans depending on your needs. You can view prices of our Plans on our home page. Get in now before prices go up.
Currently, we process payments for MobiSiteMaker.com services through PayPal (and soon to come Stripe).
We do multiple backups on multiple servers.
Any video will slow down a site. But if you use a YT or Video iframe embed code, then it's minimal. (Dropbox and Amazon are what we started with... then ventured to Vimeo and a couple of other areas. Mobile-First pretty much takes the majority of video platforms. Try adding your video source and see how it loads. If not, use one of our recommended sources, some are paid services.)
Footer options can be accessed in the Platform at Site > Options > Footer.
You can access SSL certificates after you have given your site a domain. You can find that in your site at Options > Name, Domain & SSL. In order to validate and issue the certificate, you need to follow the DNS setup instructions - in particular - setup the CNAME for your subdomain - specify the A record and point it to our IP address (in your welcome email). Until both these records have been updated and saved on your domain, the certificate cannot be issued. Please contact us when you are ready to have your SSL certificate installed.
NOTE: Custom Free SSL's brought over from other sources are much more difficult to install and integrate properly with our system. This is a technical process and improper Installation can lead to server crashes, so it’s never recommended to try and bring your own SSL over and install it yourself. We currently do not provide support for how to install custom SSL's because of how complicated it is.
Sorry, we DO NOT support file storage and videos uploads to the MobiSiteMaker server. You CAN use JavaScript and CSS codes. All videos need to be installed by use of "embed" codes or links to the video from Vimeo, YouTube and other video sites.
Initially, your site will show our domain (MobiSiteMaker.com/YourSiteHere) until you add the CNAME in your account to your domain at your domain Registrar. This is a simple process and we have videos explaining how to do this in the Help section. Clear instructions are available in the platform tutorials.
Yes, you can. If you wish, you can download your MobileSiteMaker site as a zipped html file, which you can then upload to the host of your choice. Keep in mind, though, that Mobile-First technology employed by MobiSiteMaker.com optimizes your site for extremely speedy upload (an important ranking factor), so you may wish to take advantage of the hosting available through MSM. If not, unfortunately you'll also lose the widget content as that is on our own servers. Basically, your site would lose most of the functionality which Mobile-First technology provides.
Very. But like any new product it will take time to perfect. We find it takes a few weeks of playing with it. Remember this is a Mobile-First Optimized platform so we are not like any body else out there. You are learning the future of site building, so take your time. This platform does require work to perfect it. We are also always adding new features and updates. So watching all the training videos is what you must do before you begin.
“Mobilegeddon”, as panicked website developers have named it is Google's new algorithm that takes mobile-friendliness into account when ranking search results. From 21st April 2015 if your website isn’t friendly to mobile devices then it will fall in mobile search rankings, the number of which is greater now than Desktop.
Yes. Currently PayPal, Stripe, MailChimp and Aweber. As we update regularly the platform will add more integration with mainstream services.
Yes. You are basically building two sites at the same time. Mobile-First and Desktop at the same time (and also for Tablets and other hand-held devices), however, it's still one site. The version presented by the user's brower depends on the device used to view the site. This is the big benefit of site-building with Mobi-First technology. Your site will render perfectly on all devices, starting with Mobile. It's the best of ALL worlds, really!
Currently, if you convert a WP site to MF, you must build the site first in MF, and when it's ready to go live, you would do a CNAME change and the WP site goes away, and the MF site appears. (EXTENDED RESPONSE: The WP site stays active while you are building it's "Replacement Site" in MF, until you do a CNAME.)
As a BIG VALUE add-on, you can also upgrade to our popular Migration Tool for a low, one-time payment. This allows you to Move and Future-Proof your Websites for the next decade. You can Migrate WordPress and Wix website content to our Mobile-First technology with JUST ONE CLICK. Contact us to purchase and enable this feature in your account.
You can change the email address for your account by clicking your current account email in the top right of the platform, and by going to “Profile” where you can change (and confirm) your email address for Login.
Currently Widgets can be cloned only within the same website. To clone a widget, simply create the widget the way you would like to have it, and then save it. Go to the page you wish to clone the widget to and click “+ Add a Widget”. Near the top is a drop-down menu that says “Clone an existing widget from this site”. Clicking this will show you a list of your existing widgets, and you can click one to clone it to the current page.
Reset your password by clicking on this link, entering the email address you used when you made your purchase and follow instructions.

You will need to contact your domain Registrar. With so many hosting options out there it is just simply impossible for us to know how all of them work. However, they do all work with our platform you will just have to contact them. This may help.

Don't be MF technology enables you to clone a site. After you have worked on your site for a while, save it and clone it giving the name and date/time. Clone your site called DEMO to "DEMO Clone 6-10-2019 2 PM" and save it. Go back and reopen the DEMO site and continue adding to it. If something goes wrong, you can return to the clone and recover all your work up to that date and time. We also have an Undo and Redo button to go backwards or forward.
